VACANCY

Deputy Library Manager

Stokesley Town Council have a vacancy for a Deputy Library Manager to be employed in ‘The Globe’, Stokesley’s Community Library.

The successful candidate will support and assist the Manager of The Globe Community Library:

  1. The main role is to provide cover for the manager when the manager is not present.
  2. The post holder will be required to deliver the day to day management of the services necessary for the library to function safely, effectively and efficiently.
  3. The deputy manager will be responsible for opening and locking the building according to opening hours and procedures, managing the volunteer workforce, dealing with customers, liaising with the NYCC library service team, and ensuring all relevant daily tasks are completed. 
  4. The library is a community hub and deals with a wide range of customer needs. The post holder will have good people skills and be able to respond to enquires flexibly and sympathetically.
  5. The post holder will be confident using a range of IT equipment. Training in the library systems will be provided.
  6. The post holder will keep the manager and the trustees informed of any issues, problems and incidents that occur.
  7. The library management team constantly develop the services provided. The post holder will contribute to the strategic development of the library and its services.
  8. Other duties may arise from time to time and the post holder would be expected to contribute as appropriate to support the trustees and volunteers.

 

We are looking for a friendly, approachable, hard-working individual who has experience working in a customer service environment, undertaking administration duties with a good working knowledge of office IT Systems.
