Wellbeing Bags are available to Order from The Globe

by Gill DeCosemo

Wellbeing Bags are a portable collection of items, books and activities for individuals or groups to share at home, in the library, or out in the community.  The bags and their contents aim to promote and encourage people to practise self-care and enhance mental wellbeing.

How can Wellbeing Bags Help?

Two thirds of people experience a mental health problem in their lifetime.  The bags provide a variety of self-help activities that you can try to see if they aid your health and wellbeing.  The bags can be used by an individual or as part of a group activity. There is potential for them to:

  • Improve mental health and wellbeing
  • Promote self-care
  • Encourage people to try something new
  • Provide a talking point in group situations
  • Assist people in discovering more about library services
  • Give people opportunity to contribute to the development of the bags

Where do I find the Bag?

Bags can be borrowed from your local library for up to 3 weeks.  Find your local library here:  www.northyorks.gov.uk/local-libraries.  If the bag is not available you can reserve it free of charge.

Joining the Library

It is free and easy to join your local library.  Once you have joined you can use your card in any North Yorkshire Library to borrow books, e-books, audio books and DVDs, as well as use the computers and access free online resources.  Libraries have lots going on so make sure you visit to find out more about their activities and events.

Tell us what you Think…

Do let us know what you think of the bags and their content. There is a feedback form included in this bag for you to compete.
