The Globe Honoured for its successful Summer Reading Challenge

by Gill DeCosemo

The Globe was awarded a certificate for its contribution to the National Summer Reading Challenge held over the Summer holidays.  The theme was Mischief Makers to celebrate 80 years of the Beano.

The Globe held 13 events throughout the Summer Reading Challenge - the highest in the North Yorkshire area.  Our Giant Gnasher received a special mention.

Barbara Agar (a Volunteer who conceived and designed our Gnasher) and Christine McWhinnie represented The Globe and received our certificate at a ceremony in Northallerton today.

Thank you to our Volunteers and Reading Hacks for their hard work in making The Globe’s Summer Reading Challenge such a success.  Gnasher is still in library - please come and visit him.
