Owls, Snakes and Children at The Globe

Owls, Snakes and Children at The Globe

by Gill DeCosemo

We were amazed when around 40 children (and their minders) descended on The Globe for an afternoon of Easter activities.

Two representatives from the Kirkleatham Owl Centre brought along a beautiful Barn Owl, a snake and a Dragon Lizard.  All children were allowed to stroke the exhibits (if they wished) and they heard that the lizard tried to avoid a fight, so it puffed itself up to scare off its opponent.

After everyone was supplied with hand wash or wet wipes they settled down to colouring and making chick book marks and rocking chicks.

It was a hectic afternoon that was enjoyed by everyone.

Special thanks to the people from Kirkleatham Owl Centre.
