Children at The Globe

Story and Rhyme Time – half hour sessions run by Volunteers – every Friday in term time at 10.30am. With parents and a special needs helper.

Bookstart Bear Club - A child is issued with a storybook, each time the child returns a book they are given a sticker that is added to the book in the appropriate place.
Once all stickers have been collected child moves on to next stage.

A child is also issued with a sheet and a paw print is stamped on the sheet when a book is returned - each 6 stamps give the child a certificate.

Reading Challenge - Every Summer from mid-July to beginning September.

Primary school children must read 6 books over the school holiday. They have their own reading cards and collect stickers and cards. There is a different theme each year.

If a child reads 6 books they get a medal presented in the Library. They also receive a certificate that can be presented either in the Library or in their school assembly.

The Globe Junior Book Club is for 7 to 12 -year-olds and meets in the Library 4-5pm every 2 weeks, on a Tuesday.  It is an informal group of children discussing what they like to read.  The development of this group will be led by the children.

The Globe Coding Club – is for 9 to 13-year-olds and meets 4-5 every Monday in term time.  Participants will learn how to code and design and develop their own online games.

The Globe Robotics/3D Printing Club - is for 14-24 year olds and meets every Tuesday in term time from 4-5.30pm.

The Globe Junior Knitting Group - is for 5years and upwards.  Drop-in sessions every 3rd Monday of the month, 4-5pm.

The Globe Chess Club - is for all ages and experience.  Drop-in every third Tuesday, 3-5pm.
